What Do We Do?


	Our objective is to help people maintain their independence whilst still living in their own homes and in this context we provide 3 main types of service - Transport, Shopping and Companionship




		SHOPPING This takes two main forms - for those who are housebound we will do the shopping, and for those who like to do the shopping themselves, but need a bit of help, the volunteer will accompany the client and offer whatever support is needed


	TRANSPORT The type of journeys our volunteers undertake include taking clients to: luncheon clubs social activities GP appointments visit friends hospital appointments (we can also provide an escort)

COMPANIONSHIP

At present we are finding it hard to respond to the number of requests we receive for companionship, so we have a significant waiting list and have had to close the list to new new applicants for the time being

Whilst we are not a dating agency(!!) we have tried a new new approach where, if two similar clients are both seeking companionship, we can introduce them and provide a driver to deal with any transport requirements
